The Most Painful Tattoo Placement 2024
We already told you that getting tattooed hurts. We are often asked, “Where does it hurt most?” and we usually give a clever answer like “Texas.” But we will show you some of the worst places to have a tattoo so you can think more carefully about where you want it placed. No pain, no gain am I right?
Sternum
That nice area in the middle of your chest, between your neck and your abdomen. It’s a little cutie. The designs are cool, but they’re not for the weak-hearted. We recommend that you avoid this area if you have a low pain tolerance. This is a cool area and trendy for symmetrical tattoos, but you may want to opt for something smaller. The tattoo will be less painful if it is done faster.
Inner Bicep
Another sensitive spot. It’s not painful, but it’s definitely in the top 10.
Hands
Yes, hands don’t feel good. The pain is caused by a lack of muscle tissue and fat. Hands have thinner skin than other parts of the body, making them more delicate. Hand tattoos are painful and require extra care. You may lose some of the design as you move around the edges and fingers. It’s painful to have to come back and do touch-ups.
Ribs
You can ask anyone with a rib tattoo how painful it was. You can brag about your rib tattoo if you sit for an extended period. You can show off your rib tattoo to the world if you make it through.
Feet
Remember what we said before about your hands? Apply the same principle to your feet. Imagine how difficult it would be to remain still if the appendage was further away. Feet tattoos hurt. It’s a fact.
Elbow/Knee Ditch
When we refer to “ditch”, we mean the inner area of your elbow or the backside of your knee. Skin is thin, and there are many nerve endings. Artists must be very careful when tattooing in this area, as the thinner the skin the easier it is to get a blowout. These areas can also bruise and swell. Apply ice packs to the area and take ibuprofen. You can find out more about this in our Aftercare Instructions.
Head
You have to be very creative and interesting to tattoo on your head. Second, Ouch! The head, neck, ears, and face are close to the bone and full of nerves. They don’t feel great. Congratulations if you have one of these amazing head tattoos.
Don’t let someone stop you from getting tattoos. Beauty is pain. Tattoo virgins are treated differently than us. There is no basis for comparison.
